1939 Westwaggon trophies
First of all, I would like to apologise in case this thread doesn't belong here.
During the second world war, the Germans in some countries used their own rolling stock. In many cases the vehicles stayed in those countries after the war.
I know that the Soviet Union took some cars and locomotives as trophies, but did they ever have any coaches of the type pictured below?
I know the model is in Norwegian colours, but it's one of the coaches that were used for these troop movements. It stayed in Norway after the war and was used into the 1990's. I can't remember their original designation, but in NSB service they became class C1, later changed to B1.

Hi,
it is a typ of former german passenger coaches special for semi-fast passenger trains also known as Eilzug/Eilzugwagen. This type of passenger coaches was also used in the USSR in the first postwar time in local trains.

Hi,
So these coaches did actually end up in the USSR as well? Cool. Do you know if there are any pictures of them there?

D'oh! I even subscribe to that thread.
But I was thinking of pictures of the cars while in service.

Re: 1939 Westwaggon trophies
There are very few photos taken in the early postwar years. But I've seen at least one photo of such typ of coach in passenger train in the USSR.

01, 2017 12:50 amThere are very few photos taken in the early postwar years. But I've seen at least one photo of such typ of coach in passenger train in the USSR.

Re: 1939 Westwaggon trophies
Sounds like an interesting picture, that one. I was wondering what kind of locomotives might have pulled it.
